Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done. On earth as it is in Heaven.
Jesus only ever preached one message. He did not preach baptism or good works or even salvation even though he mentioned these topics. He had only one mission. He accomplished the mission through His death and resurrection. But the Mission did not end at the Cross. He passed on that very same mission to His closest allies and gave them instructions to continue His work until he returned. His message was: Kingdom.
It has always been about Kingdom. From the very beginning. From the moment the First Adam breathed and opened his eyes and beheld the image of his Creator staring back at him. To the moment the last Adam breathed his last and declared it done and returned his spirit to the Father – Kingdom was always God’s grand idea.
And this is the end time Kingdom Restoration that is still the mission objective for us today.
I’m weary of hearing preachers and some prophets deceiving the people of God into a paradigm of escapism. Their general pitch is that this world is going to hell on a bullet train and that we just have to cling on because the rapture is coming any moment now and were are going to be beamed out of this god forsaken world to live in a far far away paradise and sit on clouds and sing songs for eternity. Ugh!
God has not forsaken the earth. He created it. He said it was good. He placed guardians and custodians to tend it, and take care of it and nurture it. He has not abandoned it. Nor has He abandoned His Original Grand Idea.
The Grand Idea
Once upon an Eternity in a dimension beyond mortal comprehension – a King of Kings envisaged a realm and it manifested. It became the King’s Domain called the Kingdom of Heaven. He ruled over it supremely. He was God over it. It could not contain him – rather he contained it. In him everything existed. He desired to share his Love & Light and so he manifested by the power of his word another reality called space-time.
Into this reality he sent his Light and created an entire universe. In this universe he created a planet called Earth and from his imagination created every type of plant life, birds, land creatures, sea creatures from micro to macro. Everything was great. But there was no one to govern it all. This strange new world needed someone to rule it. God would have to create something in His own image to bequeath this wonderful new realm. And so he created Man by his own hand and breathed into him the Spirit of God brining Man to life.
The Big Idea was to extend the Kingdom of Heaven from that eternal dimension into this new dimension by giving Man the power to rule this world as the Ambassador in the name of the Sovereign. Man would be not only be the Ambassador, but the Governor of this planet Earth and terrascape the entire planet to reflect the Kingdom of Heaven thereby extending the rulership of the Uncreated Creator. This new world would then become the Kingdom of the God of gods and man would be the the plenipotentiary – having full powers and dominion under the King of kings.
The Plot Twist
There was a plot twist and an ancient foe tricked man into giving away his birthright. That story for another time. But striped of his full powers of authority and rulership Man became enslaved to the new dark ruler. This overlord established his rebel throne and shadow government of rule. Man no longer had dominion and authority. But far worse, under the curse of this enemy, Man no longer reflected the glorious light of the image of his Creator. Soon the light in Man grew dark and as man spread across the face of the planet, it to grew dark. The earth would no longer respond to man. And the God of gods would not violate His own High Law and overthrow the new overlord on behalf of man. Only one born of the earth could ever do that, and restore Man to his rightful place and restore the rule of the Kingdom of Heaven to the earth. But no Man was to be found. But the God of gods was way ahead of the problem.
Mission Restoration
Enter the Son of Man. The one called the Christ. The champion of mankind. Sent from the Homeworld – the Kingdom of heaven. But stripped of his immortal powers to become like one of us and suffer all that we would under the dominion of the dark ruler of this world. This Champion of mankind, this last Adam, would have to overcome the prince of darkness so that the Earth could be redeemed and the Kingdom of God restored and Man re-instated to his role as plenipotentiary. In doing so, the Champion would sacrifice his life – as required by the High Law – and become the representative atonement for all mankind that the debt could be paid in full – by blood.
The price was beyond imagination. But the price was paid in full out of Love. And just when the dark lord thought that he had struck the death blow, and driven final nail into the hands that once directed the Grand Idea; the gates of his citadel blew upon and the Champion of the Light invaded the fortress of darkness and singlehandedly routed the enemy and reclaimed all dominion, authority, and the sceptre of judgement. At last the curse was broken. At last Man would be reborn as the true reflection of the image of his creator and be clothed in glorious light. At last Man could be rebirthed into his original design and purpose: to have dominion and extend the rulership of the Kingdom of Heaven over all the earth.
The Victory Mandate
The Saviour of Mankind had won it all! It was time to return to the Homeworld with the promise that someday we would be reunited with him. But until that day, we who remained and who followed thereafter, were to go into all the world and announce to every village and hamlet, every city and country that the enemy had been defeated and offer them the extended hand of their salvation to be free of the curse by renouncing the dark lord and calling out the on name of our Saviour Champion so that they could once again be reborn as full citizens of the Kingdom of God with all rights and privileges (and customs due) reinstated.
Therefore repent at once, instantly changing your attitude, and perform a right-about-face in order that your sins may be obliterated, in order that there may come epoch-making periods of spiritual revival and refreshment from the presence of the Lord, and in order that He may send off on a mission to you Christ Jesus who has been appointed, this appointment being in the interest of your well-being; whom it is a necessity in the nature of the case for heaven indeed to receive until times when all things will be restored to their pristine glory, things regarding which God spoke through the mouth of His holy prophets who lived in bygone times.
This is the Restoration message of Kingdom. This is the message I will spend the rest of my life preaching (or until God directs me otherwise). This is how we will Piercing the darkness with the sound of Light.
